Inspired by the motto of the GBU of Côte-d’Ivoire, I dedicate my life above all to know Christ through prayer, the study of His Word, and as a member of His Church, that is beautiful, diverse, complex and blessed by the Lord Jesus. I also want, with all this abundant arsenal that Christ places at my disposal, to make Jesus known.
But why among students? I think it is a strategic work that requires the investment of our Christian community. Indeed, the young students of today will be our leaders of tomorrow. Their deepest aspirations today will influence their future choices. It is crucial that these future leaders rely on Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, His Divine Word, and that they live this faith to the fullest on campuses that help shape their intellect. If we pray as Jesus did in Matthew 9:37 for workers to come for this “great harvest” in Quebec and all the world, we must make ourselves available for GOD to use us to train them.
It is in this perspective that the GBUC of Canada gives itself as a mission:
“See students, on French-speaking campuses: discover Jesus-Christ, develop a mature spirituality, become Spirit-filled witnesses.”
I came to know the Lord in 1999 and the GBU 4 years later. God used them greatly to build my faith. So I will always keep a special connection with this organization. It is a blessing and a privilege for me to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, Our Father, His Holy Spirit and His Church for as long as GOD allows me to do so among students.
